Shalini Harshwal is a Mumbai-based advertising film director, screenwriter, and independent documentary filmmaker. She began her journey as an assistant director in advertising in 2005, starting with Red Chillies, followed by Red Ice, and then Orchid Land Films. This experience led her to direct promos for television at leading broadcasters.

After a long and exciting stint with UTV, Star India, and Channel V, she went independent and moved on to directing ad films. She has worked with prominent brands such as Godrej, Tata Sky, and Cadbury. Some of her work has been nominated for Abbys and featured as the best commercial of the week in Adweek India.

Shalini likes to observe the unobserved and experiment with different formats. She went on to produce and direct a documentary called Out of a Jam, which had a successful festival run worldwide and won top honors at the prestigious Los Angeles Femme International Film Festival in 2015. It is among the best-rated documentaries on Mubi.

Her aim is to tell stories that entertain and resonate with the audience—stories that make people think, feel, and introspect.
